Just 15 minutes from the Twelve Apostles, the Great Ocean Road Wildlife Park spans 40 acres of rolling farmland, offering open, natural spaces for its animals.
Visitors can hand-feed friendly kangaroos and wallabies, meet koalas, and join fascinating dingo education sessions. The park is also home to wombats, bettongs, squirrel gliders, and several wallaby species.
At the rear, a peaceful sanctuary houses a large kangaroo mob, emus, and other gentle animals in a natural setting. Walking the main track takes about 15–20 minutes, but most guests stay 45–60 minutes to enjoy the experience.

Red Rock
Red Rock Lookout, about 12 km from Colac, is one of Australia’s youngest volcanoes and offers stunning views from a platform or a short stair climb. The area is part of the world’s third-largest volcanic plain, with craters now filled with water, scoria cones, and small lava flows. From the lookout, enjoy 360-degree views, including Lake Corangamite, which is three times saltier than seawater and home to migratory birds.
Facilities such as toilets, a playground, and BBQ areas are 500 meters before the lookout. A 2-minute drive along Coragulac Hill Road offers more scenic vistas.

Colac Botanical Garderns
The Colac Botanic Gardens, spanning 16 hectares on the southern banks of Lake Colac, feature a 1.1 km carriageway for cars, walkers, and cyclists, shaded by mature oak trees. Walking paths wind through garden beds, open lawns, and offer beautiful views of the lake. At the eastern end, a playground and BBQ area make it a great family spot, while the Botanic Café in the former curator’s cottage (c.1924) is popular.
Established in 1865, they are home to many rare plant species, with several listed on the National Trust’s Significant Trees Register.
Cost: Free
From Bimbi Park – about a 1h 20min drive. If you need to do a big shop for the mob you could make a day of it. Colac has Coles, Woolworths, Aldi, 2 Fruit shops, many butches and all the shops you’d expect in a large town. Go via Beech Forest Way (turn left before Beech Forest) – Apollo Bay too long and the other too many dirt roads.

What Our Wonderful Guests Have To Say
Thank you for your wonderful reviews and kind words. We’re truly grateful to be here, and it’s a joy to share this place with amazing people like you.
The stay was made even better by Sophie. Thank you for upgrading us. Also very kind and informative about finding koalas and getting around the park.
Video on our social channels
On our drive to Apollo Bay we saw a koala and its baby just sitting on the edge of the road (and the mum koala couldn’t move). We contacted Bimbi Park reception who sent one of their staff out to collect the koalas and take them to a wildlife carer in Apollo Bay. This speaks volumes to me about park management as they were letting one of there staff come and collect the koalas whilst being paid by Bimbi Park - they could’ve easily have just given us a wildlife carer number and got us to do it.
The person who collected the koalas was the same young bloke who helped with the pizzas, the fish n chips, made the coffee in the morning at the coffee truck (maybe his name was Nathaniel as the coffee truck is called Nathaniel’s coffee cart) and he was also a koala picker upper 😊 - all round excellent people and park!
The owners clearly love their business, adding improvements but keeping the wonderful feel of the campgrounds.
The amenities are great too, clean, spacious, and plenty of hooks to hang clothes in the shower cubicles.
It's rare to find such a fun, relaxed, campground that caters for everyone with so many different areas to camp and accommodation options.
Having Koala's in the trees is very special too! 🌞
The park is lovely - lots of birds, koalas and some Kangaroos visible from our balcony. A very relaxing place to stay
Facilities were clean and the staff helpful.
The location was close to the things we wanted to see- The light station (worth a visit), the Redwood Grove and the Treetops Fly walk.
Would recommend.
An unforgettable stay.
Whilst cut short by a night, we still had a wonderful weekend away, and will definitely be back sometime in the future.
There is so much to do for the family and especially the kids. Mini golf, rock climbing water playground and a standard playground. Oh and don't forget to grab a bag of feed and give the cow, sheep, goats and chickens a feed. Keep a eye open above the goats to see koalas.
Great cooking facilities well enough for everybody and well kept and very clean. And if your so inclined brings some marshmallows as each site has its on fire pit ( wood is available to buy or you could go collect what you can find in the local area.
The only letdowns was the beds that were a bit lumpy/hard and the wifi being only available at the office area (we didn't have any reception on the grounds at all)
We also appreciated the help of the park staff to provide us with directions to different places of interest and hiking trails.
Finding a koala outside our cabin every morning was a great way to start the day!!
Bimbi Park is certainly well situated to explore the beauty of the Otways and we would highly recommend the park to anyone looking for a great, relaxing time away.
The facilities were great!
The owners were lovely.
Our kids loved all the activities to do around the park and loved getting up close to the Koalas and the beautiful native birds!
We enjoyed a lovely walk from the park to the Cape Otway lighthouse station.
It's been one of our favourite parks we have visited so far! Highly recommended staying at Bimbi Park! We will definitely be back.
we had the double room en-suite cabin— super luxurious! staff were extremely welcoming and the grounds overall were very well kept. the goats are also super friendly!
