Egret - Great

The Great Egret is a large, all-white heron, standing up to 1 meter tall with a wingspan of 131-170 cm. It has a yellow bill and black legs, and in breeding season, it sports ornamental feathers. Males and females look alike, while juveniles resemble nonbreeding adults. Its flight is slow and retracted, characteristic of herons. Typically quiet, it makes a low croak when disturbed and louder calls during breeding. They are commonly seen around the Aire River.
