By Car
From Melbourne (About 3 hours)
Go to Geelong. It is a 55-minute drive via the West Gate and Princes freeways. A network of highways also link regional centres to Geelong and various other points along the Great Ocean Road.
From Sydney (About 14 Hours)
You can take the Hume Freeway and then travel to Geelong via the Western Ring Road and Princes Freeway. (This trip takes around 12 hours. Most travellers break their journey with an overnight stop.
From Adelaide
The western gateway to the region is at Nelson, near the South Australian border. Excellent roads connect with Adelaide which is 490 kilometres from the border.
The quickest way but a little windy around Skenes creek the rest is fine.
Go through Geelong. About 2 km passed the Pettaville winery you turn left towards Moriac and follow the signs to Apollo Bay. Drive through Apollo Bay on the Great Ocean Road. At about 20 km passed Apollo Bay you’ll see our sign “Bimbi Park Cape Otway Caravan Park” on left.
About 7 km on the light house road (the same road that the Cape Otway light house is on”) you’ll see our sign “Bimbi Park Cape Otway Caravan Park” on Right.
The longest way but not many bends. Easy driving.
Go through Geelong to Colac. Left at Corangamite street,., “you’ll see a sign that says Gellibrand, Lavers hill (it’s the Street that Safeway is on)” Go through Gellibrand. When you get to Lavers Hill you’ll se Yatsie Cafe on the Right turn Left towards Apollo Bay. (if you get to Apollo Bay …ooopppss you’ve missed us. Go Back)
At about 29 km you’ll see our sign “Bimbi Park Cape Otway Caravan Park” on right.
About 7 km on the light house road (the same road that the Cape Otway light house is on”) you’ll see our sign “Bimbi Park Cape Otway Caravan Park” on Right.
The scenic way. Very windy but The Great Ocean Road has world class ocean views.
Go through Geelong and follow the signs to the Great Ocean Road. Go all the way to Apollo Bay.
At about 20 km passed Apollo Bay you’ll see our sign “Bimbi Park Cape Otway Caravan Park” on left.

By Air
From Avalon
Geelong’s Avalon Airport is home to Australia’s cheapest flights to and from Sydney and Brisbane with Jetstar. Initially, Jetstar offers six return flights a day (3 flights from Sydney and 3 flights from Brisbane). Seven days a week. A shuttle bus service operates from the airport to Geelong, the Bellarine Peninsula and the Great Ocean Road. Avalon is the perfect gateway to Bimbi Park and the Great Ocean Road.
From Melbourne Airport (Tullamarine)
Regular flights from a range of overseas and domestic destinations arrive at Melbourne Airport, the closest capital city access point to Bimbi Park. Geelong is a 55-minute drive away via the Western Ring Road and the Princes Freeway.
By Bus
A number of daily bus services arrive in Melbourne from various Australian capital and regional cities.
From the New South Wales capital Sydney, north of the Victorian capital Melbourne, the bus trip to Melbourne takes about 12 hours.
The journey from the South Australian capital Adelaide, west of Melbourne is about 10 and a half hours. Connections to the Great Ocean Road – by air, car or rail can be made from Melbourne. Return bus services operate along the Great Ocean Road between Geelong and Apollo Bay.
Vline provides a weekly service between Apollo Bay and Warrnambool which operates on Fridays.
Buses linked to the intercity train service from Melbourne via Geelong also run between the coastal city of Warrnambool via Port Fairy and Portland, to the South Australian city of Mount Gambier.
For passengers flying into or out of Geelong’s Avalon Airport, the Avalon Airport Shuttle provides services to Geelong, the Bellarine Peninsula and Great Ocean Road. Gull provides a daily Geelong service which runs from the Melbourne Airport.
