Cockatoo Sulphur Crested
The sulphur-crested cockatoo (Cacatua galerita) is a large white cockatoo found in wooded areas of Australia, New Guinea, and some Indonesian islands. They are very common at Bimbi. They can be pests as they chew timber window frames, doors and outdoor furniture. These highly intelligent birds can copy human speech very well.
Likelihood to see them: Come in waves during the year.
Where to see them: Nest at Bimbi Park bottom block.
Time: Sunrise and most of the day.
