About Us

Welcome

Welcome to Bimbi Park in beautiful Cape Otway! We’re delighted to have you with us. Nestled among the tall trees and surrounded by stunning natural scenery, Bimbi Park offers a unique opportunity to unwind and reconnect with nature. Whether you’re here to hike, explore the local wildlife, or simply relax under the stars, we hope you enjoy your stay and create unforgettable memories. Thank you for choosing Bimbi Park, and we wish you a wonderful experience!

The Environment

At Bimbi Park in Cape Otway, we emphasize sustainability through various eco-friendly practices. Our wastewater treatment plant reduces effluent nutrient levels from 75% to about 5%, making it suitable for irrigation and significantly reducing our environmental footprint. We divert tons of food scraps from landfill by feeding chickens and use bulk dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, and body wash, eliminating tens of thousands of single-use plastic bottles. Our extensive water conservation measures include token-operated showers, waterless urinals, restricted-flow taps, front loader washing machines, dual flush toilets, and a rainwater harvesting system, collectively saving over 4 million liters annually. Additionally, our waste recycling program includes a dual waste truck for recycling and general waste. All lighting is low wattage, and our refrigeration is eco-friendly. More details can be found on our environment pages.

Bimbi History

1972 to 2005 Cyril and Pat Marriner

Cyril Marriner, the creator of Bimbi Park, spent his lifetime in the Otways. In 1972, with seven horses, he began leading trail rides through the Otways. On his overnight rides, he would camp at what would later become Bimbi Park.

2005 to Present

Kat, Frank and the family were lucky enough to manage Bimbi Park.

Every morning we drop your car off at the end of your walk and you at the start of the walk, eg. Day 1: Marengo Beach to Blanket Bay. We drive to Blanket bay, leave your car and then drop you off at Marengo. This way you can walk as fast or as slow as you want. If you are flying in you can hire a car from the airport.
